Important notice: The Government has withdrawn the Green Homes Grant scheme, with the new deadline for applications being March 31st, 2021 instead of March 2022. While the Green Homes Grant is no longer available, we have recently launched the Igloo Clean Heat Switch to help bring down the upfront installation costs substantially. Find out more and about other heating grants here.

The Green Homes Grant scheme is now open for applications. In this article we will tell you what you need to know in order to apply and what details you need to have ready.

The Government has launched a new website where you can apply to receive the voucher. Make sure you’re one of the 600,000 households who could save on their energy bills by applying today. Installing energy efficient home improvements also cuts emissions, which is better for the environment.

When applying for your voucher you will need:

  • The name and date of birth of the property owner

  • The name and date of birth of a resident if they receive certain benefits

  • A quote for the work from your chosen TrustMark registered installer

  • The TrustMark License Number for your chosen installer

  • The name of the TrustMark approved installer

Igloo is a TrustMark approved installer and our license number is: 1916833. And our trading name for installations is Igloo Works Ltd.

If you are considering getting an air source heat pump using your Green Homes Grant voucher, either as a standalone system or a hybrid heating system, Igloo are a qualified installer of these improvements and can provide you with a quote for these.

What is the Green Home’s Grant?

The Green Homes Grant is going to provide homeowners across England the opportunity to make their homes more energy efficient. Not only will this have a positive impact on the planet, but this could also help to reduce your bills. A win-win for everyone.

For most, the vouchers will cover up to two-thirds the cost of energy efficient improvements, up to a maximum of £5,000 per household. Low income households can get 100% of the costs of work covered up to £10,000.

The grant is open for applications, but it’s only available for work carried out before the 31st March 2021, which doesn’t leave you with a lot of time to get a quote, secure a tradesperson and get the work done.

With this in mind, we’d advise you to start thinking about this now!

Igloo are a TrustMark registered installer (license number 1916833) and can help you install air source heat pumps.
